Are they the same plug-in? Do they share code? Are they completely different beasts? Is the VC-76 a 'lite' version of the Softube-branded one?Īnyone have experience with both? Again, I don't really care which one is closer to the hardware, I'm simply looking for the best in the kind of compression that 1176 emulators do. Softube Plugins v2.2.76 Crack coveted dual oscillator module is the first-ever officially licensed plug-in version of a Buchla product. EQ1 joins DS1-MK3, MM-1, and more out-of-this-world Weiss + Softube products to prove that Swiss and Swedish engineering make a stellar pair. Either way, encouraged by the quality of the VC-2A I was interested in the VC-76 and was thinking of picking it up.īut now I'm curious – since Softube makes both the VC-76 and the FET Compressor, which is the better plug-in? From what I understand the FET Compressor is older (2008-ish?), but the VC-76 is also about a third of the price, this current discount notwithstanding. A one-for-one, line-by-line code port of the original, the EQ1 plug-in is the latest and greatest addition to Softubes successful partnership with Weiss Engineering. Haven't tried the UAD equivalent nor have I ever worked with the hardware, but on their own merits, I find the VC-2A to be far, far superior to the Waves CLA-2A. I bought the VC-2A a few weeks ago and have to say that, for me, it blows the Waves CLA-2A out of the water. Softube's 40% off on Compressors deal got me thinking: don’t they also make NI’s VC-76? In this case, which is the Softube 1176 clone?
